Selling a Tool

Sell Tools is your Seller Dashboard in ToolShed Market. Listings come from tools you own in MyToolBox that you mark for sale with a price. From the dashboard you manage your active and paused listings, see sales in progress, and review your sold history — and you can edit, pause, resume, unlist, or mark a listing sold. ToolBud does not handle checkout, payment, escrow, or shipping; you and the buyer coordinate the handoff directly, and completing a sale transfers the tool's ownership to the buyer.

Common Questions

How do I list a tool for sale?

From Sell Tools, tap List a Tool for Sale. That opens MyToolBox Home, where you pick the tool to list. You will need a listing title and a price greater than $0. You can optionally add up to three photos; brand, description, and payment methods are also optional. You can also list from a tool's page in MyToolBox.

What information does a listing need?

Two things are required: a listing title and a sale price greater than $0. You can optionally add up to three photos. Brand, description, condition, and accepted payment methods are optional but help your listing sell.

What do the listing states mean?

Active listings are visible to buyers. Paused listings are hidden and not purchasable until you resume them. A sale in progress is a pending transfer waiting for the buyer to confirm. Unlisting removes the listing without deleting the tool, and marking sold records the sale in your sold history.

How do I edit, pause, or remove a listing?

On the Seller Dashboard each listing has Edit, Pause or Resume, and Unlist actions. Unlist removes it from ToolShed Market but keeps the tool in your MyToolBox.

How do buyer inquiries reach me?

Buyers use Message Owner on your listing, and the conversation arrives in your Inbox. Coordinate the pickup and payment there directly.

How do I complete a sale?

Tap Mark Sold on the active listing, then pick the neighbor who bought it on the tool's page to finish the sale. That sends the buyer a transfer; when they accept it, ownership moves to them.

What happens to my inventory after a sale?

When the buyer accepts the transfer, the tool leaves your MyToolBox and joins theirs, and the sale is recorded in your Seller Dashboard sold history.

Where do I see my listings, sales in progress, and sold history?

All on the Seller Dashboard: Active Listings, Paused Listings, Pending Sales, and Sold History, plus each active listing's view count.

Can I check out or take payment in ToolShed Market?

No. ToolBud does not provide checkout, payment, escrow, or shipping. You and the buyer coordinate the handoff and payment directly.
