Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account yourself, from Profile > Delete Account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone — there is no waiting period and nothing to restore afterwards, so read this before you start.

Common Questions
How do I delete my account?
Profile > Delete Account, or Profile > Manage Account > Delete Account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm, and then it runs straight away.
Can I undo it?
No. There is no grace period, no recovery window, and no way to restore the account afterwards.
It will not let me delete. Why?
ToolBud will not delete your account while you have a borrow or lend session in progress — one that has been picked up, is active, or is waiting for a return to be accepted. Someone else’s tool is out, or yours is. Close those sessions, then delete.
What gets deleted?
Your profile and contact details, address, photo, tools and their photos, posts, friend connections, imports, receipts, project references, notification settings, and your sign-in itself.
What does ToolBud keep?
Closed borrow and lend records stay, along with tool transfer records and any safety reports, but anonymized: your name becomes "Former Neighbor" and free text is scrubbed. Those records involve another member or are needed to keep the community safe, so they cannot simply disappear. Your messages also stay visible to the people you exchanged them with. Counts and totals containing no personal information remain too. The Privacy Policy has the full list.
What happens to tools I lent that are still out?
You cannot delete while a session is in progress, so this does not arise. Get your tools back, or return the ones you borrowed, first.
I signed up with Apple or Google. Anything different?
If you used Apple, ToolBud also asks Apple to revoke the sign-in link, so it stops appearing in your Apple account. Google works differently: ToolBud stays listed under your Google account’s connected apps until you remove it there yourself. The delete screen shows you the link.
