How ToolBud collects SMS opt-in consent

This page documents ToolBud's SMS notification opt-in flow for carrier review of ToolBud's A2P 10DLC campaign (use case: Account Notification). It shows exactly what a member sees and does to turn SMS notifications on, reproduced from the live app source so the copy below is byte-for-byte what ships in the app.

SMS notifications are off by default and are never required to create a ToolBud account or use the app. A member opts in by navigating to Profile → Notification Settings after creating an account and affirmatively turning on the SMS toggle shown below.

By enabling SMS notifications, you agree to receive account and service-related texts from ToolBud. Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Consent is not required to use ToolBud. See Terms and Privacy Policy.

This is a static recreation of the live in-app screen, not a photograph. Layout, toggle state, and disclosure copy are reproduced directly from the shipped app source (app/(tabs)/profile/notifications.tsx, lib/sms/smsConsent.ts) so they cannot drift from what members actually see. The SMS toggle is rendered off, matching its default state for every new member.

Consent facts for carrier review

Campaign use case: ACCOUNT_NOTIFICATION only. No marketing, promotional, coupon, referral, or marketplace-sales SMS is sent under this campaign.
Opt-in method: Affirmative in-app toggle at Profile → Notification Settings, after account creation. No SMS consent is collected or required at signup, account setup, or Terms/Privacy acceptance.
Default state: SMS is off by default for every new member.
Consent record: Turning the toggle on writes a durable, timestamped consent record (user, phone reference, disclosure version, source) before any SMS is sent.
